Here's
Proof Harmsco Cartridge Filters save Money!
| Five
commonly used Cartridge Filters were evaluated in our test facility
to determine filter life and dirt blocking capacity. All Cartridge
Filters tested are rated five nominal micron by their manufacturer.
A mixture of water and coarse test dust was used to determine
relative performance. Each cartridge was weighed prior to the
tests, thoroughly dried and weighed after the tests to determine
solids removal. Gallons filtered were recorded until all Cartridge
Filters reached their capacity at 30 psid. The results are shown
below. |

Harmsco and WaterBetter Cartridge
Filters filtered significantly longer
than the depth Cartridge
Filters because their pleated design
provides increased filter area. Stringwound resin bonded and spun
poly filter cartridges reached their capacity prematurely, since
most of the particulate formed on the Cartridge
Filters outer surface and not in the
depth of the media, as intended. |

Because the Harmsco and WaterBetter
pleated Cartridge
Filters filtered longer, they removed
dramatically more sediment than other cartridges tested. The depth

the test particulate accumulated on their outer surface, as shown

Note:
To dramatically demonstrate
relative performance between the five Cartridge
Filters tested, a highly concentrated
mixture of water and coarse test dust, representing 3% solids
by weight, was used. Filtration was terminated when each Cartridge
Filter reached its capacity at
30 psi (2 bar) differential.
